In 2015, Amazon Conservation launched MAAP (Monitoring of the Andes Amazon Program) that harnesses real-time satellite technology to track deforestation across all nine Amazon countries. It has equipped governments, communities, and indigenous groups with actionable data to protect the forest as threats emerge.

Through the creation and management of conservation areas, Amazon Conservation has directly protected 9.3 million acres of forest that is home to over 356 endangered and endemic species. The conservation also safeguards 481 million metric tons of carbon that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

Amazon Conservation partners with 25+ communities in the Amazon headwaters, training over 20,000 people in conservation practices like tree care and water management. They also invest in the next generation through scholarships that enable young biologists to conduct field studies at the conservation's research stations.
